EAM5208 Conductive Ceramic Materials 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
Up to now, the studies on the ceramic materials have focused on insulating and high heat-resisting properties based on classical physics. Recently, it is reported that some ceramics have semiconducting and conducing characteristics, which include oxides, nitrides, sulfides, and selenides. Thus, the fundamental physical properties and conducing mechanisms must be understood. In particular, these materials have wide application fields such as displays, sensors, energy storages, photonic devices, etc. In this course, the fundamentals principle on conducting ceramic materials will be introduced, and also novel devices, fabrication process, and device performance will be provided.
EAM5209 Advanced Materials Convergence and Applications 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Korean Yes
Recently, in the fields of natural sciences and engineering, convergence technology with an aim of developing new functionality and applicability over the existing technologies is becoming increasingly important along with traditional academic research areas of metals, ceramics, polymers, textiles, and electrical engineering. The main purposes of the convergence technology are to create new materials and technologies from systematic convergence between existing and newly developed materials and technologies, and also to gain insights into the new convergent materials and applications. In order to achieve these objectives, one must have deep understandings on the basis materials such as metals, ceramics, as well as polymers, fibers, and even hybrid-type composite materials. Therefore, in this graduate course, as to cultivate or train the future core researchers in the field of convergence materials researches, topics from the recent convergence researches will be studied as well as fundamental studies on the basis materials such as metals, ceramics, and polymers. The main three topics in the course will be, i) the definition of convergence technology, ii) fundamentals of basis materials and technologies for convergence, and iii) applications of the convergence technology.
EAM5210 Convergence Materials Seminar 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Korean Yes
The convergence materials technology is new conceptual integrated material technology of NT, IT, CT, BT, and ET, which will lead future society. In this course, international great scholars are going to give lectures to students, which give students opportunities to understand the convergence materials technology as well as obtain information on new trend in convergence materials research. 16 international scholars will teach the class via online system. Students will learn the recent convergence materials research as well as the fundamentals of material science from great scholars. This course is helpful for students to search future research fields and increase creativity.
